Most of us feel guilty when we shop. We buy a new raincoat because we like the color,
and then it never rains. We spend too much money on shoes or a new computer, and
end up feeling bad. At www.iGive.com/TILI , you can buy the items you've always
wanted – like that CD box set, expensive cologne, or the oversized coffee-table
photography book you've had your eyes on, only without the guilt.
Turn your "selfish" acts into generosity by becoming a member of www.iGive.com/TILI .
It's FREE, no invisible costs or tricky obligations. Shop for everyday items at 600+ stores
in the Mall at iGive.com, like Barnes & Noble, Eddie Bauer, Lands' End, Expedia,
and PETsMART. Up to 26% of each purchase is donated to Your Cause !
Who hasn't uttered the words, "I wish there was something I could do to help."
Now you can. Start shopping!

Computer / Equipment Donation / Recycling

'Computers for People With Disabilities' Program

Tri-County also runs the 'Computers for People With Disabilities' Program, which
provides computers to people with disabilities who do not currently own one.
If you have a newer model PC and monitor, keyboard, and mouse that you do
not need anymore, we would love to talk to you.
We are currently accepting machines that have at least a Pentium 3 processor,
running at 500 Mhz or better. Unfortunately, we cannot accept printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
(We are also happy to accept newer laptops and disability-related software and equipment.)
If you have a PC meeting these requirements,
please call Brett Pritchett at (707) 445-8404,
or e-mail bpritchett@tilinet.org
You can find out more about the program by clicking here;

If, for some reason, we cannot accept your electronics, please
read the page re-printed below concerning Recycling in Humboldt County.

RECYCLING

From:
The Humboldt Recycler's Page
Ways and Places to Recycle in Humboldt County, California
If you have suggestions or useful information for the page, please send me an e-mail .
Humboldt-Freecycle is an e-mail list that seeks to reduce waste by connecting individuals who are throwing away goods with others who are seeking them. Furniture, clothing, appliances, computers, and everything in between can be posted, but everything must be FREE.
*************************
A couple things to mention right off the bat;
- Don't mix aluminum foil with aluminum cans. They aren't the same as aluminum foil is 75% tin, I've been told. Recycle aluminum foil with tin cans.
- You can recycle those plastic shopping bags, that are so common nowadays, at any Safeway store. The recycle bins are usually somewhere near the front of the store.
- The metal lids that go on glass jars can be recycled with normal tin cans.
- To find out where to recycle rechargable batteries (used in cell phones, cordless phones, power tools, etc.), click here .
